For this project I think this cool, marbled aesthetic could be really fun to explore.

Animation Ideas

1. Milk and Dish Soap Milk and Dish Soap when mixed together do not mix and move around in a weird way. When you add food coloring t can create pretty cool and trippy effects. This reaction would be cool to capture in stop motion with different colors and stuff. All i would need is containers, milk, dish soap, and food coloring. I can shoot lots of different colors and reactions over time. 2. Oobleck on a Speaker When oobleck (a corn starch based slime) is placed on a speaker it dances to the music and moves around. It creates really cool and unique forms that can't really be captured any other way. All I would need to do is find an old car speaker that works, make some oobleck and then have it dance. In editing I could change the colors of the oobleck and add other effects to add to the dancing. 3. Colored Paper Being Shredded I think it may be cool to have colored paper that gets cut up into smaller and smaller pieces. Over time forming a larger and larger ...

Time Map

For my Time Map assignment I decided to write down every brand that I saw over a 24 hour period. This was actually incredibly difficult because I had to actually pay attention to what I was seeing throughout the day. It is so easy to miss advertisements and brands because they surround us and are so normal. I was originally trying to king of organize the information but completely abandoned that as the day went on because I just got so tired of writing down brands as I saw them. There are also times where you can make a narrative out of what I was doing based on what brands appear together. For example, the section with Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, etc was when I was looking on my TV for something to watch.

Radio Lab: TIME

What is time? In the Radio Lab podcast the concept of time was extensively fleshed out and left me pondering--what exactly is time? The concept of how there was no standard time until 1850 and the relativity of time was really interesting to me. I actually think about time often and how it's just something that we have kind of fabricated as humans. My visualization and concept of time is that time is simply something that exists within a vacuum for us as humans. Time exists because we exist. If there wasn't life then I don't think there is time. If there is nothing to change, grow, or develop then is there actually time? This makes me wonder if there is time outside of our little bubble of human exploration. Like is there time on Jupiter? There is time here on earth and we see Jupiter change within our earthly perception of time, but does it actually exist for us personally until we can step foot on Jupiter and create that time? None of that may make any sense, but it ...
