Audio Terminology
• Amplitude - basically this is the loudness of a sound
• Frequency - basically this is the pitch of a sound
• Waveform - the image that represents sound
• Audio track - a single audio file or asset
• Audio Equalization - adjusting of sound frequencies (commonly the treble and bass)
• Sine wave. What does this sound like? - sine waves sound smooth especially compared to square waves
• Decibels - decibels are units of measurement to tell the intensity of a sound. Deci means ten and bel is a unit of the measure of power. Therefore a decibel is a tenth of a bel unit.
• VU Meter - volume unit meter, it measures and displays the signal level in audio equipment
